Newsroom Ready: B.C. raises flag at legislature marking Transgender Day of Remembrance
Politicians in British Columbia raised the Transgender flag for the first time during a ceremony marking Transgender Day of Remembrance at the legislature. The ceremony included statements by members of the transgender community who say violence against transgender people in Canada must stop. The participants in the ceremony observed a moment of silence following the flag raising to remember victims of violence.
