Newsroom Ready: Trudeau announces pause on carbon price for heating oil, heat pump pilot project
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the government would double the topup to the carbon price rebate for rural Canadians and introduce a temporary, three-year pause to carbon pricing measures that are applied to deliveries of heating oil. A pilot project being launched in Atlantic Canada also aims to make it easier for people to switch to heat pumps. (Oct. 26, 2023)
