Liberals rebrand carbon pricing program, announce increased rebates
The federal Liberals are renaming the quarterly payments sent to Canadians to offset the impact of the carbon price ahead of both the payments and the carbon price itself being hiked. Labour Minister Seamus O’Regan and Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault say the formerly named Climate Action Incentive will now be called the Canadian Carbon Rebate to make it more clear to Canadians what the money is for.
