Wreck of Ernest Shackleton's last ship, Quest, found off Labrador
John Geiger, chief executive officer of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, announces that he led a successful mission to find the wreck of Quest, Ernest Shackleton's last ship, off the coast of Labrador. The famed Irish explorer died on the ship in 1922 during his fourth Antarctic expedition, and the ship sunk 40 years later during a whaling trip in the Labrador Sea. (June 12, 2024)
