Police apology to First Nation cancelled after no-show by officers
An apology ceremony to help an Indigenous man and his granddaughter heal from the trauma caused by their wrongful arrest by two Vancouver police officers was cancelled and replaced by an uplifting ceremony when the officers did not attend the ceremony. Maxwell Johnson says the uplifting ceremony was welcome but it will not completely resolve the trauma caused by the arrests of himself and granddaughter in Vancouver three years ago for trying to open a bank account.
