NATO leader pushes Canada to boost defence spending
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg says in an interview with The Canadian Press that Canada must boost its defence spending to reach the two per cent of GDP mark, which all members first agreed to back in 2014. Stoltenberg made the comments after a two-day visit to Canada, during which he and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with troops in Nunavut participating in Canadian Armed Forces’ premier Arctic training exercise as well as one of the military radar sites that forms the backbone of Canada’s contribution to Norad today.
