The former police chief in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia was sentenced today to 15 months in jail for sexually exploiting a 17-year-year-old girl. Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Mona Lynch said 56-year-old John Collyer had breached the trust of the girl's family and the community as a whole. The victim read aloud from a statement in which she described Collyer as a "monster."
