Newsroom Ready: St. John's, N.L., digs out from winter storm
Eastern Newfoundland was walloped with its first winter storm Sunday night, with high wind speeds affecting visibility and creating high snow drifts that greeted residents in the morning. St. John's recorded 40 centimetres of snow as of Monday morning. Residents ventured to the streets Monday afternoon to tackle the snow drifts piled high in driveways, sidewalks and streets.
