Newsroom Ready: Canada leads international coalition demanding answers in Iran
Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said Friday Canada is leading a group of countries who lost citizens in a plane crash in Iran to demand a full and transparent investigation into the causes of the crash. Champagne said the crash, which killed 176 people, 138 of whom were on their way to Canada, is "nothing short of a national tragedy." He said he is concerned about images of the crash site being looted and wants Iran to immediately issue visas for Canadian officials and investigators to get into Iran so they can access the crash site in Tehran.
