Newsroom Ready: Feds contacted Irving to protect commercially sensitive information
Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains says his department did nothing wrong when it contacted Irving Shipbuilding before answering questions from the media about an Irving government contract. It was the second time in recent months federal officials forwarded media questions to Irving, prompting Irving to contact the reporters and threaten to sue. MP Charlie Angus says the government is proving it is there to help its friends in high places.
