Newsroom Ready: Liberal government faces scrutiny on decriminalization
The Liberal government's stance on drug decriminalization is receiving renewed attention in the wake of its announcement that possession of small amounts of drugs will be allowed in British Columbia. NDP MP Gord Johns warned the Liberals would have blood on their hands if they voted against his bill to expand decriminalization nationwide — which most ultimately did — while Conservative MP Brad Vis said they should instead focus on treatment for people who are suffering.
