Canada needs to do more to protect species at risk: environment commissioner

Environment Commissioner Jerry DeMarco says Canada is not doing enough to protect animals and plants that are risk of going extinct. In his fall audits, DeMarco particularly calls out Fisheries and Oceans Canada for putting economic interests ahead of biodiversity protection in deciding which species to list as needing protection.
